It's one of those books that begins with a hooking first page, makes you desire the main character's desire. Within minutes you won't realize you are already on page 30, and you're engrossed into her journey.
Then, things take a slower pace because of the repetitions that are there as reminders for why the protagonist must begin her journey, which is usually necessary to strengthen the goal in every book. The reason you will like this book is because the MC's goals and reasonings were laid out straight and made believable---"If Rin doesn't do this, she will/will not get ..." The simplicity of the goals in this book ran the story forward, and you will just end up finishing the book before you realize.
Moreover, it has a good theme. You will like the culture, the lore, the similar set like Kvothe's University, school rivalry. Although, it strictly avoids all sorts of human sides, which might feel as if the author is hell-bound not to include romance, making the protagonist ambitious who will go to any length to reach where she wants to be.
After the journey, you will like how it ends. It has a great cover--definitely a book to keep on your physical shelf.
